The military leader in Guinea, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, has declared, during a speech on national radio, two days of mourning starting today.
They're in remembrance of the people, numbering, according to some estimates more than a hundred and fifty, killed at an opposition rally on Monday.
The deaths were caused by security forces firing on the crowd.
The opposition were protesting against the possible candidacy of Captain Dadis Camara in next year's presidential election.
So what will the national mourning involve?
Paul Bakibinga has been speaking to our reporter in the capital Conakry, Al Hassan Sillah.
