Reports from Somalia say a number of foreign military helicopters have carried out a raid in the south of the country.

Two people are said to have been killed after a vehicle was attacked.

Details are still sketchy about who owns the helicopters.

The area is controlled by the al-Shabab militant group, which is believed to be holding a French agent kidnapped in July.

The French Defence ministry has denied suggestions that its forces carried out the raid.
