Many people on the African continent are still trying to reach the west, despite horror stories of African immigrants being ill-treated in, or on, their way to Europe.

However, it seems there is now a new mecca as far as African and European relations are concerned.

Angola is the destination of choice for many people in Portugal who are flocking to Luanda for what they hope is a new start in life.

Others are re-connecting links with the past, as many Portuguese who were forced to leave Angola during independence still feel a close affinity with the country.

Now the two nations have shaken off their colonial animosity to become firm business partners, as Louise Redvers reports.
