The Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki has made major changes in the country's much criticized police force.
He has replaced the chief of the police together with his most senior deputies.
There has been both local and international pressure for reforms in the police force which has been accused of carrying out out extra-judicial killings in the country.
The BBC's Josphat Makori told Focus on Africa how far reaching these changes are.
