Rains in Niger have been causing havoc in the north of the country.

At least three people are reported to have died as flood waters sweep over normally dusty and arid land areas.

In the northern city of Agadez, at least 3500 people have been left homeless as the deluge moved all in it's way.

Network Africa's reporter in the capital Niamey, Idy Baraou, has been monitoring the situation.
