A South African man's successful bid for asylum in Canada on the grounds of racial discrimination is causing quite a stir back in his native country.
A Canadian immigration panel ruled that the man, Brandon Huntley, was likely to be persecuted back home because he is white.
But in a statement, the South African government said granting refugee status on the grounds that Africans would 'persecute' Brandon, was racist.
Akwasi Sarpong spoke to Mr Huntley's lawyer Russell Kaplan in Ottawa on why Brandon wants to leave South Africa.
