Kenyan governments have always been criticised for failing to tackle high level corruption.
A lack of commitment against the vice has been cited in the collapse of several high profile cases.
Well anti-corruption activists in Kenya are now protesting against the re-appointment of retired Justice Aaron Ringera, who has been in charge of the anti corruption commission for the last five years.
Critics previously damned him for allegedly failing to successfully investigate and prosecute corrupt officials.
But now he has been re-appointed for another five year term by President Kibaki.
The BBC's Yusuf Dayo spoke to prominent lawyer and former legislator Paul Muite, who is outraged by the appointment.
