The United States Special Envoy to Sudan Scott Gration travels to the capital of semi-autonomous South Sudan later today.

Expectations are high that his visit will strengthen the full implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement(CPA) between the former civil war enemies from the north and south.

There has been growing concern at the stability of the four and a half year old peace deal.

Each side accuses the other of undermining the agreement - but a joint action plan to support peace efforts is expected to be signed later today.

Peter Martell reports from the southern Sudanese capital Juba.
