Rather than the capital Freetown, we go to Makeni for a taste of contemporary music in Sierra Leone.

A lot of Sierra Leone's top modern music-makers are still based in and around the capital down at the coast.

But in recent years, it's also become possible to head inland and find a vibrant music scene there, as Umaru Fofana's been finding out in the town of Makeni.
