In Kenya a long drought this year has resulted in a food crisis.

Later today, the cabinet holds an emergency session to discuss the situation.

The food crisis was dubbed a national disaster by president Mwai Kibaki back in January and despite a raft of government measures including a suspension of duty on maize imports nothing much has changed.
