Nigeria's security forces are on red alert.

This follows orders by the President last night for action against Islamists whose campaign against government-owned interests has claimed at least 100 lives in the north-east of the country.

In just two days, radicals - allegedly calling themselves the Taliban - used guns and grenades during raids on government installations in mainly Muslim states- Bauchi, Yobe, Kano and Borno.

And there are fears that the violence might spread.

So do the security agencies have a plan?

Lewis Machipisa called up the spokesman of the Nigerian police, Emmanuel Ojukwu.
