The leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Orkah, has been released from detention as part of an amnesty agrement.
This news comes following MEND's claim to have launched an attack on an oil installation in Lagos.
MEND has so far restricted its attacks to the Delta and some offshore oilrigs but this is the first time that oil facilities have been targetted in Lagos, Nigeria's economic capital.
For more details, Peter Okwoche spoke to Tom Oladipo in Atlas Cove, the scene of the attack.
