President Jacob Zuma has raised the issue again of his African National Congress merging with its old rival, the Zulu-dominated Inkatha Freedom Party.
The president himself is a Zulu, and the ANC did well in the Inkatha heartland in the elections last April.
On the line to Durban, Focus on Africa's Paul Bakibinga asked Inkatha spokesman Reverend Musa Zondi if he thought a merger would be a good idea.
