Five elderly Kenyans have gone to the British high courts today, in an attempt to win compensation over claims that they were tortured and unlawfully imprisoned during colonial rule some fifty years ago. The Mau Mau revolt, in which they took part, led to a series of bloody battles between Kenyan nationalists and British forces throughout the 1950s. The three men and two women also want the label of terrorists which was given to them by the British rulers, to be rescinded.
