The last twenty four hours in Somalia's capital Mogadishu have probably been the worst for weeks involving clashes between Somali government troops and Islamic insurgents.
A number have been left dead by fresh fighting.
On wednesday the city's top police commander as well as five children were killed earlier in the day and last night there was carnage when a mortar shell hit a mosque as worshippers were leaving evening prayers.
