In Somalia the government offensive against insurgents gained a bit of ground yesterday in north Mogadishu when loyalist troops retook a police station which had been occupied by insurgent fighters for the past month.
The police station is seen as the key to controlling that area of town.
So to find out how matters developed overnight, Akwasi Sarpong spoke to our correspondent there, Mohamad Olad Hassan.
