Nigerians have today been enjoying a day off as the country celebrates 10 years of uninterrupted democracy.

In 1999, the then Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar handed over the reins of government to newly elected President Olusegun Obasanjo ending nearly thirty years of military rule.

But has democracy been a success in Nigeria?

Peter Okwoche spoke to Nigeria's Minister for Information Dora Akunyili.
