The west African regional body ECOWAS has warned of rising tension between the government and opposition following the dissolution of parliament yesterday by President Mamadou Tandja.
The move came after the country's constitutional court rejected the president's plan to hold a referendum on changing the constitution to allow him to run for a third term in office.
Peter Ndoru spoke to Abdel Fatau Musa, ECOWAS director of political affairs.
