Tragedy strikes on Africa Day- pan-Africanist campaigner Tajudeen Abdulraheem dies in a car crash in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi
Born in Nigeria in 1961, he became best-known for his role as General Secretary of the Pan-African Movement, a position which led him to write prolifically for newspapers and journals across the continent.
Firoze Manji editor of the Pambuzuka News, an online discussion forum that campaigns for social justice in Africa, knew Tajudeen Abdulraheem well and ran a weekly column by him. On the line from our Oxford studio Mr Manji began by telling Peter Okwoche what kind of man Tajudeen Abdulraheem was.
