Africa's longest serving president - Gabon's 73 year-old head of state, Omar Bongo, is currently in Spain undergoing medical treatment.
It is not known exactly what his ailment is but there is no doubt that it is serious.
His illness has led to questions over who might succeed him should the matter arise.
President Bongo's defence minister is none other than his son, Ali Bongo, and with his daughter, Pascaline, also heavily involved in politics, could we see power remaining within the Bongo family? - and is Gabon becoming another of the world's political dynasties?
