Malawi's general elections are to be watched by international observers from SADC, the Commonwealth and the European Union, all of whom have deployed dozens of staff on the ground to monitor the electoral process until the final results are announced.
The former president of Ghana, John Kufuor, is chairing the Commonwealth observers mission.
He was also involved, earlier this year, in the African Union efforts to resolve tensions arising from the controversy over the eligibility of former president Bakili Muluzi tio stand in the poll.
Chakuchanya Harawa spoke to Mr Kufuor in Blantyre.
