The South African government has made a surprising u-turn on its decision to deny the Dalai Lama a visa.

Earlier this year it caused international outcry by refusing to allow the Tibetan spiritual leader to attend a peace conference in South Africa.

The BBC's Mpho Lakaje reports from Johannesburg.
