The UN refugee agency, the UNHCR, says it's negotiating with Al Shabaab, so it can distribute humanitarian goods to areas controlled by the Islamist group.

Aid workers in Islamist controlled regions of Somalia have run the risk of being kidnapped by groups with links to Al Shabaab.

Guillermo Bettocchi is the UNHCR country representative for Somalia.
