In Sierra Leone there has been a dramatic end to the trial of 15 people, amongst them eight foreigners mostly from South America.

The men were convicted for landing a plane loaded with cocaine and were sentenced on Monday for their involvement in the drug haul.

But the drama seems to be unfolding further in a thriller-like flourish. From Freetown, Umaru Fofana takes up the story.
