Thursday 19th June From 1745, there will be Team Rounders matches on the Playing Field, Duck Lane, Barford. for young people between six to 13. Eager players can sign up at 29 St Martin’s Close or Church Farm House, Factory Lane and pupils at Barford School can sign there.
After this fun competition, the Barford Hornets Football Teams will have their annual reception, at which all the players will receive their presentations and awards. This event will celebrate a highly successful year for the Hornets. Friday 20th June At 1945, the HND students from the Performing Arts Department at Salisbury College, known as Hind Legs Theatre, will bring to the village two one act plays by Georges Feydeau. Saturday 21st June The Summer Fete, with all the usual attractions, opens at 1400 in the marquee.
This year, we welcome The Millstream Orchestra, a Magician, Quad Bikes, Inflatables, Archery, Duck Races, Pony Rides and many stalls, sideshows, attractions and bargains. Food will be plentiful and delicious so arrive hungry and enjoy a Ploughman’s lunch, a barbecue or fresh strawberries and cream. Amongst the many raffle prizes is a rare opportunity to take a Microlight flight and the very latest Harry Potter book. Historians and archivists will appreciate photographs of Barford over the last century and a chance to research their family tree. The Fete will be followed by a fork Buffet Supper with a licensed bar in the Marquee with dancing to a live band “Catch-22”. Sunday 22nd June Songs of Praise with Top Ten Hymns led by Rev John Staples will round off the revelry at 1430. |
