The winner will get the chance to present a show or produce a report for BBC Radio Swindon & BBC Radio Wiltshire and entering is easy. Just come along to the BBC Zone at this year's Swindon Mela festival, which is being held on Saturday 31st July 2004. Essentially, the Beeb is looking for some fresh, new talent and although experience isn't a big requirement, loads of enthusiasm and ideas are certainly essential! You also need to be 18 or over and live in Wiltshire. You'll need to be able to introduce music and interview a guest or two, which won't be a problem if you're naturally inquisitive!
Have a go by visiting the BBC Zone at the Swindon Mela and if you catch the ear of the judges, you'll be asked to write a few words explaining why you should become the Beeb's new Wiltshire Jock Idol. So, if you've always fancied the idea of being radio presenter or news hound, now is your chance to have a go - and who knows where it could take you! Keep listening for more news about Swindon's Mela - tune in to Sangam on BBC Radio Swindon & BBC Radio Wiltshire, Sundays 1700-1900 BST on 103.6, 104.3, 103.5 and 104.9 FM. |
