The Rolling Stones might be trekking around the world on their 40th anniversary tour but ex-bass player Bill Wyman is also ploughing his own furrow around the UK in slightly more intimate venues. After the sold out show of last year, Bill Wyman is returning to City Hall, Salisbury, with his Rhythm Kings in a show, like the last, that promises to be an evening not to be missed. He comes to the City Hall on Monday 10th November. The Rhythm Kings tour this summer involved some of the world's greatest musicians including: Albert Lee, Martin Taylor, Mike Sanchez and Georgie Fame; not forgetting one of the greatest bass players of our time - Bill Wyman; who is going back to his roots and original love of jazz and blues. Bill Wyman in summing up the ethos of the band states: "The whole idea behind the band was to play music that we love. It's also great to work with people I've known for many years. "Everybody in the band does it for the same reasons, as I do, to have a good time and send the crowd home with smiles on their faces." The Rhythm Kings first collaborated together in 1997 releasing albums, which met with rave reviews storming the jazz and album charts. Mojo Magazine described their album 'Groovin' as 'providing some of the most accomplished easy - in the best possible sense - listening music of the year'. With such talented musicianship, together with some of the greatest jazz and R&B songs over the last thirty years, this is a concert not to be missed! Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings play Salisbury City Hall on Monday 10th November at 8.00pm. Tickets are priced at £22.50 each and can be obtained from the box office on 01722 327676. |
