This years Mela is on Saturday 25th July at the Old Town Gardens. Sukshinder Shinda will be performing at the evening Bowl which is a ticketed event (tickets now on sale at the Arts Centre, Devizes Road, Old Town, Swindon). How could you not have pictured and mentioned Achanak the main group on Saturday evening.They are the best live bhangra group in the UK and were the reason we travelled from Basingstoke to the Mela.Regards,Brian Parsons

was a lovely hot daY! not alot of pictures on the fashion show though! where are they? very good day. cant wait till next year. the elephant was the highlight though, it was fantastic!

Many of you may have met me a the Mela - I am the giant wicker elephant that was created by the Swindon Tamil Association (pic no 3). I do miss the Mela crowd and would like to see you again - please come and visit me on the first floor of the Brunel Plaza; I am standing in between the Boots and M&S store.

Well done to the Swindon Mela Executive Committee for putting together another successful Mela. The event was blessed with typical indian weather and everyone enjoyed the day in perfect harmony. Can't wait for 2009 - good luck.
