JAMES DONALDSON
In Australia,Sheep Wshing Was Conducted For Three Reasons.1)The English manufacturers required the greasy wool to be washed.2)The process removed burrs grass seeds and other vegetable matter from the wool acting as a benefit to both pastoralists and shearers and 3) It lightened to loads for the bullock teams that charged their loads by weight.

Kath Trout
I don't know about the sheepwash but the village won't get visitors if the pub's shut at lunchtime on a very wet Tuesday in April!
