Steve Higgins Spring Quarry was originally converted for the Minister of Aircraft Production during WW2 but the factory never went in to opperation so the Cabinet office took over the northern area of the factory around 1950. It remained in the hands of the Cabinet office until the 90s when it was handed over to the RAF.
