Wiltshire's Ghostbusters

They were called in as a result of recent reports of activity, including the smell of smoke, the nocturnal knocking down of picture frames and the sense of a presence, the team of trained investigators embarked on a night’s study of the premises.

PSI investigators completed a fieldwork investigation at the centre on 15th April 2006. Whilst much was experienced most of it was only experienced by one person, so cannot be considered valid.

One event was consistent with staff reports. One investigator reported the distinct smell of tobacco smoke, however there are numerous other events that could have caused this.

Throughout the fieldwork trip all involved repeatedly heard footsteps on site. The team used CCTV to observe the staircases of the building, to ensure there was no-one else in the building. The footsteps seemed distinct from the footsteps of customers using the Threshers store, located on one floor of the centre. 

Unfortunately the instances of footsteps ceased when the off license closed its doors. Nevertheless staff reports persist of footsteps heard in the building during hours when neither the off license nor the centre are open.

Were these footsteps simply off license users, or something different? Those who work at Upstairs, Downstairs are monitoring the situation and PSI have asked them to keep us informed if the footsteps persist at unusual hours of the day and night.
