I can remember as a teen going to the Gene Pitney Cavalcade of Stars. I still have the album and books, then life went on and I've always wondered what happened to Gene Pitney. What a georgeous man and a dynamic voice. I just recently ran across all the information, and what a life he did leave. I am sorry I didn't get to see one of his shows again as an adult!

In 1965 I was 15 and going through puberty. I used to play his records, lie on my bed and cry my heart out. LOL He was great. And he had that haircut BEFORE the Beatles. I loved him. Thanks Gene, love you!!

Some people are just born with a little something extra...and Gene Pitney was one of those special people....i had an older brother and that is how i know of his music as he always played his records, i have come to love his songs and i just keep discovering new ones all the time....but i must say my very favorite one is ...."SOMETHING'S GOTTEN HOLD OF MY HEART " that song is a bibical epic and a real diamond in his crown, i love them all though ! i truly believe he gave his life to his fans but i thank God for the gift he left to all of us and his family, he truly had the gift to move people, rest now in heaven Gene !

So very sad. I waited a lifetime to see/ hear you perform live. My husband bought me tickets to your concert as a gift, but you passed away while on the tour, just before the date I was finally going to hear you sing live. It wasn't meant to be, I guess. One thing is for sure. You will never be forgotten, and the world has lost a unique artist and performer. I know you were planning a music tour with your son. I hope he carries on your legacy. RIP Gene

born in liverpool and living in the U.S since 1979 did not give me the opportunities to see Gene Pitney in concert but I would like to see Celine Dion make a dedicated album to gene of all his greatest hits to honor him cause there is no other singer alive that can bring out the heart, soul and feelings of a love song like she can in a tribute to the greatest love song singer of all time

Gene really made me smile! Especially when he told me he didn't like flowers!.. because neither do I! "I'm allergic to most so I stay far away as I can!" he stated April 2006 :) God bless him forever. His voice and music alone are great and strong enough to ensure his memory is preserved for all time. Sleep Well Gene. Loved always.. by so many more than you ever knew.

He had a unique voice which could portray such emotion He could bring tears to your eyes, He also had a modesty about Him in spite of His stardom , one felt He appreciated His fans and always seemed approachable, I am very sad at his passing, star quality like His is very rare and He will leave a great hole that no one else can fill .

I've been a fan of Gene since the early 60's and I still love his music and always will.Back in the late 1980's Gene was performing in the New York State Fair I spoke to him briefly about letting me take pictures of him. While he was doing his performance on severl occasions he came over to the right-side of the stage and I was able to get several photos of Gene. It was a REAL thrill for me to be there and to especially to talk with Gene.

When we were younger I used to cry when his records came on the radio, because I would have trouble with my boyfriend and his songs would just say how it felt. I miss his songs and wish that I had seen some of his later tours. He will be missed, he was one of a kind. Bless him.

John McCormack was the greatest singer of the first half of the 20th century; Gene Pitney was the greatest singer of the second half.
Ruth, Newcastle on Tyne,
I, like so many others have been a fan of Gene's for over 4O years. His music meant so much to me. I am so glad that I did manage to see him in concert, but I was looking forward so much to see him again when he came to the City Hall in Newcastle on the llth April, but his sudden passing prevented that from happening. Please give my sincere condolences to all his family, especially his wife Lynne and sons Todd, Chris and Dave.

Gene Pitney had a voice that has stayed with me my whole life. My eldest sister used to listen to him, and that's how I discovered his music as a child. I'll never forget the clarity and sensitivity of his voice on "Only Love Can Break a Heart". I only wish I could have sung with him before he passed on. Gene your music and voice will live on forever. ~Voxx 418, of www.telegenetic.com~
