One old Wiltshire tune was adopted as a marching song by the 4th Battalion, T.A., of the Wiltshire (Duke of Edinburgh's Royal) Regiment and has almost become Wiltshire’s unofficial anthem. Salisbury MP, Robert Key, continues the tradition of singing ‘The Vly be on the Turmut’ at every general election. It has become a tradition for the song to be sung by the successful candidate from the balcony of the city's White Hart Hotel!
