Voices will explore the way the British Isles speaks today, and BBC Wear wants you to share your thoughts on the way you talk in Wearside and County Durham. Whether it's Peterlee or Stanley, Washington or Seaham, there are many ways to say the simplest things. Take a listen to these clips and see if you can understand what these people are talking about. You have been listening to Gail Hann and Ian Macintosh telling Voices about language they use, or have heard being used in their area. Nationally, Voices will be conducting the biggest-ever survey of how we speak. You will be able to take part and add your voice to the big picture. BBC Wear wants you to speak up too! We want you to share your stories, thoughts and ideas about the voices heard, right here, where we live. Here, BBC Wear is launching an ever-expanding mini-site dedicated to Voices in Wearside and County Durham. Throughout the year, and with your help, the site will explore and celebrate the way WE talk. |
