France Trip
DAY 6 Decided to head up to the much heralded surf breaks at Hossegor, then over to Seignosse and had an amazing surf at Les Bourdaines - just like the waves we'd dreamed of coming across.
They were head high and barrelling, with elevator-type drops into waves that were jacking up very quickly into waist high water.

Had pretty much the best waves of my life, and loved the fact that it was a really easy paddle back out to the lineup around the sections that were breaking.
There were some awesome surfers on the shoulder, so we decided to stay out of their way and picked off those that they missed or let through. Came across a local riding a yellow Roger Cooper shortboard too!
Said he'd picked it up in Jersey...spent a couple of hours in there then decided to call it a day. I paddled in and wandered over to another peak where a load of O'neill groms were smashing and slicing up the place, under the guidance of their tutor - Sam Lamiroy.
He turned out to be a friendly chap, and advised me that the wind was set to increase for the following day and pitch northerly.

Had some munch, drove around and couldn't find any spaces at campsites in the area (quelle surprise), so we rang a load in the brochure, and managed to come across one about three quarters of an hour's drive away towards the Pyrenees.
Rocked up, set up camp and had a couple of bottles of wine in the local bar to celebrate the superb day's surfing. Nodded off, highly content with our encounter with some lovely waves that day.

DAY 7
Sam was right - was a fair bit messier today, and drove to check out Capbreton and VVF where we hope the sea wall would give a bit of shelter. Not so, and it turned out to be a rest day - hanging out in café bars drinking lots of coffee and munching loads of croissants.
