Weather woe

Britain may have become a winter wonderland - but what was it like trying to get to work or running your own business during this year's big freeze.

As things have now begun to get back to normal we're in a position to count the real cost. But how do businesses suffer and why aren't we better prepared?

The climate experts are all telling us that extreme weather conditions are going to become more common. And yet taking a day off because of the bad weather is something of a minefield in employment law.

So did you have to take a so-called snow day because you couldn't get out - or were you forced to take it as leave? And isn't it time everyone started taking the threat of heavy snow and floods more seriously?
