The latest update from Wales@work

The Senedd building in Cardiff Bay

Will Wales weather the financial crisis?

As politicians in Cardiff Bay gather to consider their response to recent events in the economy, we ask how Wales will weather the storm.

Wales@work, Tuesday 14 October, 6.30 PM - and available for seven days afterwards on BBC iPlayer Radio.

It's the biggest financial crisis since the Welsh Assembly Government came into being and this week our politicians in Cardiff Bay are holding a summit to discuss their response. Only this week Westminster stepped in to nationalise some of our biggest banks, but in the context of such huge events, what exactly can the Assembly Government achieve?

Most commentators now believe it's a question of when, not if, we go into recession but how well prepared is Wales to weather this storm. Tonight Wales@Work talks to experts in manufacturing, the service sector, people from small and large businesses and an Assembly Government minister about their views on how we'll cope.
