So why do some businesses and organisations use complicated language? Is it just that those of us outside certain industries don't understand their terms - or are the culprits hiding behind this overly complex language?

What about the changing face of language in the 21st century? Is email and text-speak changing business language? Is there a certain etiquette to be followed?

And is plain English really about improving our use of language - or is it actually about dumbing-down?
