Are you a regular at your local pub? Would you miss it if it closed its doors for good? Well some analysts are warning that thousands of pubs will be forced to shut in the next two years because of a "perfect storm" of pressures.

Spiralling costs, competition from supermarkets, the smoking ban, the credit crunch - and consumers drinking less - are all being pointed to as causes of a major headache for landlords and pub managers.

So how are they faring in Wales in this climate? How are our breweries meeting the challenges?

Will it be a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year for them...or will they just be nursing a financial hangover?
