Sartorial codes in the business world

Does it matter how you dress for work? How much does appearance really count? Will you lose out in business if you're a bit sartorially challenged; or is it all about brains anyway?

Can you ever get away with turning up for a job interview in jeans and tee-shirt, or should you wear a shirt and tie or smart business suit, whatever the position you're hoping to fill?

What about uniforms? What do they say about you and your company?

Well one Welsh businesswoman is hoping her new look will boost her business potential. Deborah Meredith is appearing on the BBC 1 primetime show What Not to Wear, which sees people given a very public - and sometimes radical - makeover.
