Is the number up for bingo?

The game of Bingo has been a long standing tradition here in Wales and even though the numbers are dwindling, more people visit Bingo clubs every week than go to church or attend a premiership football match.

But a ban on smoking in public places comes into effect in April and, according to the National Bingo Association, half their customers are smokers.

In Scotland, where the ban came in a year ago, the industry has reported profits dropping by nearly half.

Bingo halls in Wales are warning that this could be the last straw. They complain that the new Gambling Act has made applying for licences twice as complex. In some cases, licence fees have gone up, and they're hit by higher taxes than other gambling institutions.

So, could this be Bingo's last call? Or is the industry giving up before it's had a chance to play under the new rules?

Join Sarah Dickins and guests as they discuss the odds for bingo's survival.
