This week Adam Walton explores our attitude towards taking risks and asks why some of us are more comfortable with it than others.

Adam meets Caldicot psychologist Joyce Dallimore who suggests that our attitude towards risk might be linked to our brain gender, while Dr Tim Woodman, of Bangor University's School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences believes serial risk-takers like mountaineers want to conquer their fears. Health risks are difficult to evaluate and Dr John Gallacher, of Cardiff University's School of Medicine, offers advice on those frightening, and often contradictory, newspaper reports. And we hear from the emergency teams who mop-up after young drivers take too many risks on the roads.
