Martian Robots
The European Space Agency ExoMars Mission scheduled for the end of 2013 hopes to learn from the ill-fated Beagle 2 mission in 2003. The robotic arm for the new Mars Rover to be used on ExoMars, is being developed at Aberystwyth University. Our reporter John Meredith visits the University to see the latest progress.Flying Robots
The British Antarctic Survey are experimenting with robot planes to survey inaccessible expanses of the icy region. UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are being tested which can take 100 measurments per second during a pre-programmed flight plan.
