Louise's Half Marathon: the Big / Little Finish
On Friday morning 22 October, Louise ran the final 0.12 miles of the Cardiff Half Marathon that she started last Sunday. The original half marathon route was changed at the last minute for health & safety reasons, meaning it was slightly short of the required 13.1 miles. Lou felt she owed it to all the listeners who pledged money to Children in Need to complete the full distance.
''I owed it to all the listeners who kindly donated money to Children In Need to make sure that I'd completed the full half-marathon course. Taking their money knowing that I'd only run 12.98 miles on Sunday instead of the required 13.1 would have been cheating them, myself, and most importantly, Pudsey Bear."
The route was been measured and verified at 193 metres by our Health and Safety Officer with a trundle wheel.
Wales favourite weatherman Derek Brockway was on hand to start the event - watch the video at the top of the page to see what went on.
