Once upon a time it used to be that you could pick up a few eggs and milk or a pot of honey at the farmgate. But times have changed and with the opening of industrial proportion outlets - has the humble farm shop had it's day?

We visit the well established the True Taste award-winning Llwynhelig Farm shop in Sarnau, Ceredigion - run by Jenny and Teifi Davies who have built up the business and remained true to their principles of sourcing local produce. And while small is beautiful in a rural area Cwmcerrig Farm shop at Crosshands has a larger population to tap into but that doesn't mean they have to compromise on quality. They've just been awarded the title of Best UK Farm Retail Newcomer 2012 from FARMA (The National Farmers' Retail and Markets' Association) so is this the farm shop of the future?
