A reward of £5,000 has been offered for any information after a farmer reported a case of sheep rustling on the Black Mountain near Brynamman, Carmarthenshire. Hugh Davies noticed 150 were missing from their 1,000-head flock when they collected them from the mountain at the end of October.

Fishermen and boat owners are urging a rethink over plans to charge for access to a slipway at a Pembrokeshire beach. The county's national park authority wants to charge people £6 to take their vehicles onto Freshwater East.

Could it be possible to breed TB resistant cattle ?
Researchers from the Roslin Institute, Edinburgh, say some degree of resistance to bovine TB is inherited and it may be possible to selectively breed cows which are more resistant to the disease.

Sandbanks and mudbanks act as natural defences against rising sea levels and coastal erosion. We understand how the sand works, and can predict its movements, but we have very little knowledge of how it moves when it becomes 'sticky stuff' or mixed with mud. Hoping to improve that knowledge is Dr Jaco Baas of Bangor University.
