Last updated: 22 July 2010

Country Focus - Sunday 25th July at 0730 ; repeated 26th July at 0530 presented by Rachael James.

Wool is currently enjoying a very strong demand and producers can expect higher prices this season. But that hasn't always been the case - in recent years it could cost more to shear a sheep than the wool would fetch when sold. Yet it's a job that has to be done and this natural fibre is currently enjoying Royal patronage with the Prince of Wales as he campaigns to bring it back into fashion. To coincide with the International Golden Shears competition at this year's Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, Rachael James looks at the value and contribution of Wool to the Agricutlrual Industry in Wales.
