A truly Dream Alliance

The story of Welsh racehorse Dream Alliance, who came back from serious injury to win the Welsh National

Last updated: 21 February 2010

Country Focus - Sunday 21st February at 07.30am presented by Melanie Doel

Brought up on a disused allotment next to Blackwood Rugby Club, Dream Alliance is owned by 23 regulars of the Top Club in Cefn Fforest who all pay £10-a-week for his upkeep. The racehorse completed a fairytale return to racing by winning the 60th Welsh National at Chepstow - the 20-1 outsider. And he'd come back from injury after he severed a tendon in his front leg. Mel Doel meets Dream's owners and the horse himself and finds out about their hopes for him in this year's Grand National at Aintree.
