Country Focus - Sunday 25th October at 07.30am presented by Melanie Doel.
Powys council's planning committee voted against a proposal to transform farmland at Llanfilo, near Brecon. The site was earmarked to house a family who had lived in a roadside lay-by in the Brecon Beacons for years. Campaigners claim there is a great need for authorised gypsy sites in Britain. Mel Doel meets the Smith Family who have been living in the Brecon area for many years and are disappointed at the lack of provision of sites in the area.
And we visit a small farm near Llangadog in Carmarthenshire which is preparing to celebrate its 25th anniversary next year. But this is no conventional farm. This is the LLuest Horse and Pony Trust.... a farm with just forty acres of land which rescues unwanted horses, ponies and donkeys ...many of them in a sad physical condition.
