RIVER ACCESS

Imagine the scene - A beautiful sunny day, lazing on the riverbank, as children paddle in the water; a cormorant perched ready for action; a boat floats past - tranquility and peace. Yet things are not always so calm on the rivers of Wales. Every so often there's a report in the media that canoists and anglers are feuding over their rights of use on the water. And it's not just their rights that are at issue - what access rights do we all have to the rivers of Wales - can we jump in for a swim, let our dog in to chase that stick? The Environment Agency Wales is charged with task of bringing all sides of the riverbank together and to come up with a strategy of access. Country Focus visits the river Wye to explore the issues.
